Our plan in Surabay is simple, just laze around, do some last minute shopping and rest as its our last day of the trip. So its time to recover back our energies and spirit

Apa khabar Surabaya pak - Day 3

Morning or rather the next morning, we ventured the hotel surroundings. but before that breakfast on the house ya...

The morning weather is perfect, with a mild wind blowing...aahhhh... the breakfast??? just a simple fried rice, eggs, fried chicken and some keropoks (don't what to call it in English..)

Just behind our hotel, there's a small muddy stream...but what is more tempting is the swimming pool yeaaa

Ooi abang,,,dah bangun ke belum nie??? (Hey bro...are you awake????)

Photoshoot at nearby gazebo...

Me with the tradisional Javanese hat/cap??? trying to impersonate a Balinese village head

again,....that swimming pool view...arggghhhhhh

I like this photo shoot....

all in the family minus one missing (sigh...)

(Tak dapat mandi, basuh tangan pun jadilah hehehe..kesian)

A Balinese temple

After a while, our friendly friend came and pick us up and took us around Malang town

The winding road and the weather is cooling and fresh...a bit of mountain air

Bamboo tress surrounding the ravines and hills

First stop - Coban Rondo.
what is interesting there??? lets find out

The signage here says that visitors here are covered by insurance protection
In case of death - will be compensated with Rp5,000,000 (that's million for you!!!)
Total disablity - will be compensated with Rp10,000,000
Hospitalization coverage - Rp1,000,000

Family photo at the entrance

After a short distance walk (just about 200 meters), walau wei......an amazing sight
Water gushing down from almost 800 meters above

As in all tourist attractions comes the legendary stories and this one is all about the fight between two warrior for a beautiful princesses (why not for a cat, dog or parrot hehehe)

Well the legend says that a newly married couple plan to have their honeymoon in the mountains despite being warned not to go by their parents. As they were travelling, they were stopped by an unknown being who is also interested to take away the bride away. The husband then hid his wife behind the waterfall before fighting with his enemy. In the end both of them died and wife became a widow (in Java a widow is called Rondo)..and as the legend has it she stay below the waterfall forever

After a few photography sessions, we head back to Malang town and went to this mosque for Friday prayers - Masjid Agung An-Nuur
For the ladies, they went off the other way for a quick shopping session huhu

A shoe/slipper service counter

An amusement park nearby

Second stop - Jatim Park 2. (Jatim short form for Jawa Timur)

A unique building for guest to stay...looks more like the Disney movie - the House

Very nice and big replicas

Didn't stayed there for long as its more like a theme park and a theme park is almost the same everywhere. So we took few photographs here and there and bought some souverniers before heading to our next destination...Kesuma Outbound orchard

A few huts/houses for tourist to stay..kampung style

After paying for the entrance fee we were guided into the orchard by their staff.
We were allowed to pick only two fruits per person for each orchard...what the fish....

My camera shy boy....

First orchard stop - the guava orchard.

Next stop - the green apple ochard
The apple tress looks rather old and the fruits are small in size. Walked around towards the end of the orchard hoping less people would go and pick the fruits there. But the result is.... :-(    dissapointed. Still small apple fruits

Well, got the make best of the occasion right????

My camera shy kiddo

Me...having to climb precarious branches to get the bigger apples...huhuhu

We bought some apples for our lovely couple guide

Oh ya... this pic should come earlier. This is the entrance to the orchard

Some of the apples readily picked by the farm owners for sale

The list of fruit tress available in the orchard

Whewwww...that was fun... after all the excitement we proceed to our next destination.

Our next destination is quite unique. It's a place called Masjid Tiban Turen in Malang. We drove for what seems internity and arrived there at about 8pm. The roads were leading to very remote villages and it was dark and raining. even our local cousins have not heared or seen it themselves !!!...and they were surpirsed that we Malaysian knows more about it than them hehehe....but you know that sometimes even the best attraction is behind your backyard you would not even notice it until someone point it out to you right????

@ the reception counter

This complex is built on a 5 hector piece of land and legend says that it was build by 'jin' (genies). It was build somewhere between 1963 and managed by a person known as Romo Kiai Haji Bahru Mafdlaluddin Shaleh Al-Mahbub Rahmat Alam or simoly known as Romo Kiai Ahmad.

Some poems to ponder upon

The complexs is self funded and its occupants build the extension of the building through their own ideas without any building plans or professional consultants

Coincidently met with the principal of complex and had a few moments to hear the history of the complex

Its 10 stories high and equipped with lift facilities

Well..we are done for the day.....had a long trip back to the city of Malang, drop for a quick late supper and off to bed...

Tomorrow, our last day of the trip...
