Shah Alam-Ranong-Myanmar-Phuket-Shah Alam (Day 3) -Part 2

MYANMAR....yeaaa here I come
the weather is cloudy and its slightly drizzling but my heart is super exited to step into a new country. Don't know about my two otai's as Bro Griffin has been here before and so too Bro Han from their other side of the border

Walau wei.. this is their immigration border post. It's definitely an old school type of office where everything is done manually..no computers, photo scanner or any sophisticated CCTV. Just one officer, one old desk and chair with no air-conditions. Anyway we don't have to do any paper works as our tour guide does all the arrangements.
P.s. see his rustic hat bro...tak tau nak cakap macam mana lagi tu..hehehe
Right geng...the eagle has landed. Look around at the town. Just like we have travel through time warp and travel back to the '70s. Few rows of 2 level shop houses,  people riding around without any safety helmets and the guys still wearing sarongs (that's their tradition)

this guy keeps popping out to show off his tri-wheeling skills
We booked a mini van to take us around the area
First stop - Victoria ViewPoint
Myanmar flag high above

King Bayint Naung statue. The hero of the Mynmar people who fought gallantly with the Siamese, Burmese and other guys who tried to colonized the country

It was said that this guy has more than 30 wifes and many many children and grandchildren (its rather obvious right..more power more lust i guess. Its still happening around the world till this day)

Second pit stop - to one of the Buddist temple about 5km from Victoria Point. We did not get in as we need to take off our riding boots etc..so we elect to skip the tour inside the temple.

Just a peek from the enterance

Some of the praying materials sold outside the temple

We can also see from here - Ranong, Thailand on the other side of the ocean

Normal sights...three on a bike while holding an umbrella. Just like the old days

Criss-crossing some alleys on the way to downtown

We stopped by to buy some stuffs from a shop. Surprising enough the owner of the shop is a Muslim lady and can speak Malay with some Kelantanese accents. she informed us that there are mostly Muslim communities around her shop (about 3 km radius)

An old mosque seen here - Jame' Masjid

For all the MU fanatics....they have die-hard fans here too you know

Next stop - wet market

Scene from the 70's???

Inside the market...no one talks much in here and look at us like aliens (wonder why???. Is it because they are afraid or is it because the way were we were dressed??? We were all in full riding suits i.e. riding pants, boots and all....but they don't look to friendly)

We stop by a stall to have a short coffee break...Aahhh fresh hot coffee and the people around here is slightly friendlier and we managed a small chat with them.

Towards the end, I managed to get a picture for the album. A couple shot with a Myanmar girl in their traditional powder on their face
A close-up picture from Bro Han with this cute girl

It was a fantastic journey and a memorable moments. Well we don't have much time with us and its time for us to pack-up and move to our next destination. Back to Ranong, then to Phuket for a day and back home later

Next post...Phuket stop. Chiaw
