VISIT TO THE CHU CHI TUNNEL

More updates on our visit to Ho Chin Min city. Let's have a morning around the town before going to our next destination but before that I missed the photos for dinner last night

Okay back to our morning walk
View from our hotel

Earlier yesterday, I made a booking for half day tour to the famous ChuChi tunnel. The bus route took almost one and half hours from the city.
Our tour guide in action

"The number of motocycles in the city is equivalent to the number of people in the city' he explained. 'That is the reason why we can see many motorist on the road and it is the most efficient way to travel around town'
Scenes of the city outskirts

Bumper to bumper

Local gas station queue

As in all tour ride, we had to stop to one of their handy craft factory where they had handmade paintings, carved marble stones and hand made accessories
Let's look around the area

After a short tour, its time for light refreshments (not included in the tour fee...wekk :-(  )

Next stop....ChuChi tunnel yeaaaaa
This is the entrance tunnel leading to the tunnel hehehe

First stop...briefing of the ChuChi tunnel history and its surroundings by our guide

lets get in guys

A quick pose

the rat holes architecture... three layers of underground bunkers for multi-purpose usage

Visit to the first of the many ingenious traps designed by the locals

You don't want to be in here guys

Vietcong hideouts
Now you see me

Now you don't

Even this big guy can fit in..just make sure his don't get an e*ection or he will be stuck in that blackhole foreever hahaha

This lady also wants to get in the action

more of their hideouts

with my new friends

more of the man made traps

Man made slippers. The unique thing about these slippers are their soles. It is purposely made that way so that when they walk their footprint will point to the other direction (and fool the smart GI's....hehehe)

Now for the main event....the famous ChiChi tunnel I've been mentioning for some time now. The tunnels is approximately 800 meters and there are exits on every 50 meter just in case somebody gets claustrophobic. and the passage will get narrower until you have to crawl on your knees to get to the other side and there's no way to 'gostan" (literally means reverse yourself)
come and join me on this journey

my new buddy..she's actually does not feel good about the idea of crawling in the pitch black, narrow holes
Its totally pitch black. Thanks to the technology of a flash it looks like normal small tunnel

random snap inside the black tunnel and got this photo

me and my nervous look....trying to look cool bro

another random shot.....luckily its was not lighted all the way hehehe

lights at the end of the tunnel

pheeewww
more displays

another gift from Uncle Sam

Got this entrance pic while exiting the place

That was a very exciting and eventful morning...next will be another round of city walkabout and a visit to their colonial post office
