Guangzhou-Shengzhen-Hong Kong - Day 1

Hi all...

Here's my update after such a long break (again????) - huhu susah betul rupanya nak keep up the blog updated all the time

Our next adventure holiday was to Guangzhou and Shengzhen then cross over to Hong Kong before heading back home. Before I bring you to the journey, lets have some teasers shall we????....

Our adventure starts from 22th May - 27th May 2013 and as always we will set our checklist, bookings ready, search through the internet for places of interest, Muslim food locations, fees and hotels. And for this trip together with my spouse, we also invited our friends i.e. YB, Shah & wife

Before we left house, did some last minute baggage arrangement and guess what's in YB's bag. A whole load of instant food stock which can last for the whole trip......yeaaaa way to go YB

All set and ready to go....

After about 3 hours flight we reached our first destination - Guanzhou, China

Another round of repacking hehehe

China - here we come

At first our original plan was to take the bus or train to town but after arriving there and checking out the fees, we decided to rent a limo to the hotel instead

First few glimpse of China....I was impressed and fascinated as I was expecting to see maybe some paddy fields, wooden huts on the outskirts. Boy, was I wrong.

The road leading to town was wide, clean, with trees and plants, modern buildings surroundings all the way.

The weather is about 25'C and slight drizzle

Arrived at our hotel - BaiLing Hotel

Not much view from our room here

First on our agenda was to Canton tower. After a quick check in, we took 2 taxis. What we noticed was that there was a grill bar separating between the taxi driver and passengers.  Later on they told me that it was for precautionary purpose due to theft incidents.

That's our destination. The weather is cloudy and drizzling since we arrive here

But we got bad news when queuing for the ticket. The tower cable car was closed for renovation for the next 2 months. Arrghhhhh....frustnya. It's the only tower in the world that has cable car circling on its roof....see the model below. That's what we were after sob sob sob....

Guess there nothing we can do about it now. We were also unable to take pictures around the tower as well as the rain got even heavier.........

So off to our next destination...Beijing street
We look around and found the nearest train station

The ticket machines and the train lines are similar to ours so we had little problem except for the instructions given. Mostly are given in Chinese obviously.

Similar train coaches

I think we stopped at Tianhe station (ya ker??? x ingat plak sb dah lama and otak kapasiti xleh simpan info byk2) which leads straight to one of the shopping mall. (Apa lagi...ini bahagian kaum hawa yg conquer lah)

The view outside the subway

Electric bus plying their routes

After a short walk, we found our target destination-Beijing Lu or Beijing Road. The famous shopping street in Guangzhou

Welcome to my boutique house (perasaan kan???)

Cute mobile police beat station

Done with our shopping, we started to feel hungry as our last decent meal was at McD at LCCT, KL in the wee hours of the morning.
We headed towards the end of Beijing Lu and found a Chinese Muslim restaurant....

Yum yum...semuanya sedap sebab dah laparkan?

This is our order...(bolehla...) Not as what we expected..it has a blend taste and ordering is quite tricky as they don't speak a work of English at all

After the late lunch, we took this picture with the young waiter cum owner???

Then we headed slowly towards our hotel guided by our map reference (printed earlier in KL)

Nice river view

After a quick shower and short rest, we were out on the street again. Again to Beijing Lu for the second round

Guangzhou skyline across the river

River cruise ride....we plan to take the ride if time permits later

Instant photo printing service at the walkway. Their printer is modified and connected to a car battery to generate electricity which enable them to print on the spot.

Beijing Lu scene at night.....

After spending few hours of shopping we headed back to the hotel. We were surprise to see this guy selling mutton satay and prattha bread just in front of our hotel.

So we ordered some while observing and enjoying the night lifestyle of the people here

We had a full activities today. Time for a rest and tomorrow we will continue our adventures again.

Gud nite everyone and continue to read my next updates soon........
